1 week of tiling!!

Another Friday another trip out to the block. This is quickly becoming our Friday night entertainment. I got some pictures but sorry they aren't very good, we are locked out. I got the photos through the windows but they are so dirty it is hard to see in. The colours in the photo aren't true colours. The kitchen is throwing a brown colour in these pictures but its actually grey to the eye. Anyway the tiler has been busy. He has now done the laundry, splash back, ensuite floor and front landing. I cant see the bathroom but I think that would have been done too. Our SS said we have about 4 weeks left. I must say I am getting excited but looking at the swamp on the side of the house takes me back to our last build. So much mud. It takes a good year to be complete. It will be an adventure and keep us busy.

Completion stage already!!!

The plants are slowly growing. You can see the difference in the 2 photos. We have re potted a few of the species into larger pots. I use to water the plants everyday. Because they're in pots the soil seems to dry out and need loads of water. However, its been so wet this month I haven't had to water them in ages.  I have to take them out of the garden bed to clear the weeds out that grow in between the pots. The plants are so big now its such an effort. My back was hurting at the end of it all. I am looking forward to moving but the thought of the actual physical task of moving house is something I am not.

Meanwhile the house seems to be progressing quickly. We've had two invoices this week from Beechwood. One for the lock-up and another for the fix-out. I have seen cars in front of the house all week so I am hoping they've got loads done. I noticed the plumber there today. I might have a peek tomorrow and try to take some pics. We are now in the completion stage, we only have 1 more invoice to pay.  Looking at other peoples blogs I am thinking we have about 8 weeks left. Which will take us to about the 20th of May. I was telling people July so its abit of a shock it will be done so early (touch wood). We still need the electrical and plumbing fit-offs, the tiles and the water tank, shelves, garage door, sinks, range hood and carpets but at this rate it shouldn't be to much longer.

Avocado Plant.

My avocado plant bounced back. I re-potted it and its now outside in a shaded place and I put a light cover on it. It's going well.

After our peek in on Friday evening we couldnt help but to pop back in today and wow!! Workers turned up on saturday because our front door is stained, benchtops are on, and more indoor painting. Also they have done some work in the bathroom. We were locked out, so pictures are looking through the windows.

Painting started

The painters have started on the roof yesterday. We have a kitchen and vanities in place. They're covered but you can kinda get a peak of the colours. Waterproofing seems done but we aren't happy and concerned about it. We will speak to the SS on Monday to see what we can do about it. I have added heaps of pics.  Looking at other peoples blogs I am thinking we have about 9 weeks to go.

Lock up?

I guess you could say we are at lock up. The doors are all on internal and external. We dont have a garage door yet but the house can now be locked up. Still waiting on an invoice thinking it might come once the garage door is on. I forgot my phone so this is the only shot I got. I will take more on Friday, hopefully all the woodwork and door handles will be done.

So much rain!!!

Well its been really wet the last 2 weeks, good timing because our roof is on now. We have been so lucky with the weather on this build, nothing has been held up.

We've had the gyprockers in, they did the walls and came back to install the cornice. We have decorative 3 step in the main living areas and down the hallway and normal /plain throughout the rest of the house.  It really feels amazing walking through. The kids rooms feel very large to me. We made them bigger so we could fit a desk and reading chair in there. Looking at my robe and ensuites makes me happy too. I am starting to think of the furniture placement and what we will need. We have started buying the blinds for the house, the letterbox, lighting etc. I think we are getting excited lol.

We rang the SS to check on the progress and he said lots of trades are booked in this month. So I am hoping all goes to plan. We should be getting the waterproofing done today and then I think the kitchen and doors get hung. Cant wait to see my front door and garage door. I must admit I look forward to getting that invoice -  I am ready to be in lock-up stage.
